I would have given a 5 rating but we were placed in an apartment which was right next to the building work that is going on. There are a few areas where there could be some improvements such as putting more sun umbrellas around the swimming pools and the service is often more friendly than accurate but that is part of the experience in Barbados. The restaurants we tried (Azure and the Italian) were both very good with friendly service and decent portion sizes.
We had the breakfast plus evening dinner plan but actually with a well kitted out kitchen and a small shop on the resort you could even go self catering.
The views from the hotel over the beach are quite stunning and a great backdrop for breakfast. This makes it an exciting stretch of beach but perhaps not too suitable for those with younger children. The beach is very nice but as written elsewhere it is often windy and wavy.
The hotel arranged for a taxi to meet us at the airport which was prompt and within 10-15 minutes we were at the Crane. Although this is a big resort on the south coast of Barbados the fact a number of the apartments are 'owned' means it never feels too busy.
